Staff are feeling much better about the care they're able to offer at Morecambe Bay's hospitals.

In a survey by UHMBT there was a 20% increase in the number of staff who felt they had the resources to give high quality and safe services.

However, a third of staff still wouldn't recommend the NHS Trust to their family and friends.

The Morecambe Bay Trust has been undergoing a long-term transformation.

The previous management was replaced three-and-a-half years ago following numerous scandals.

Jackie Daniel, Chief Executive, said: “It is fantastic to see the positive responses from our staff to questions asked in the survey. It is paramount that staff at our Trust feel engaged and valued. The results also recognise that we have more to do. This isn’t about a one off initiative but a new way of working to ensure the change is embedded. I am looking forward to year two of Listening into Action and supporting our staff to go even further with making positive changes for our patients.”

David Wilkinson, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development, said: “The response from our staff to Listening into Action has been fantastic – our first wave of improvement projects and quick wins have been driven by our staff and the results of the survey demonstrate that it is really helping to improve their experience at work. We want UHMBT to be a great place to work and Listening into Action will be a key way for us to achieve that.”
