Organisers of next the Keswick Mountain Festival have revealed the first details of their plans for next year's event.
It celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2016, and will this year host its "biggest ever" programme of outdoor and sporting activities.
The festival, which will run between the 19th and 22nd of May, attracted more than 17,000 visitors this year.
The festival sports programme will include popular races from recent years, as well as some new events.
Running and triathlon events will take place on both Saturday and Sunday, to give people the opportunity to enter more than one race in the same discipline over the weekend.
The hugely popular Trail Races and Triathlons will return, with a variety of distances on offer and changes to some courses.
The 1,500m Derwent Island Open Water Swim will return, as well as the Back o’ Skiddaw 70k Cycling Sportive."
Athletes can enter by clicking here from Thursday October 22.
Everyone who books a place on one of the sporting events will also be entitled to claim one free ticket to attend either the Friday or Saturday night concert in the Keswick Mountain Festival Village on Crow Park.
In addition, they will be able to book their camping at the same time, along with more concert tickets for friends and family.
Lucy Scrase, KMF sporting director, said: "This year, we saw a big leap in the number of participants in the sporting events at Keswick Mountain Festival, but the clear message from visitors was that they had an appetite for even more options.
"So, on one hand, we will continue with the established and successful events and build more capacity in those. On the other, we have a couple of new events that we’re really excited about and which we will announce soon. The sports programme is also really popular for other festival visitors who want to watch the action and I think that the way we will stage and timetable everything in 2016 will be really spectacular for everyone involved.”
More details about the wider programme will be released in the near future, including other outdoor activities, a full schedule of speakers and the concert line up. To find out more, click here.
