South Lakeland's Community Safety Partnership has teamed up with its counterpart in Barrow to host two crime prevention events - aimed mainly at farmers.
The first event's being held at the Auction Mart in Ulverston on Tuesday next week (October 20th), between 11am and 1pm.
A second one is being held at the Auction Mart at Junction 36 of the M6 on the 25th of November.
Organisations present will include SLDC, Victim Support, Trading Standards and the police.
There will also be an opportunity for people to sign up the Community Messaging Scheme which sends information from agencies in the county tailored to their needs and preference by phone, text or email.
South Lakeland District Council portfolio holder for Health and Wellbeing and the joint South Lakeland and Barrow Crime Safety Partnership Chair Cllr Graham Vincent, said: “A particular focus of this group is rural crime and I am delighted to support these events. South Cumbria is a safe place to live. By following simple measures like locking doors, garages and sheds, not leaving keys in cars or quad bikes and not leaving property on full view in our cars, we are all helping to keep it that way.”
