A drug dealer caught in possession of cocaine at the Kendal Calling music festival has been jailed for four years.

31-year-old James Tagoe of Pendleton Green in Liverpool successfully applied for a job as a parking attendant at the 2015 event near Penrith.

Taking advantage of the fact he was not subject to the same security searches as other festival goers, Tagoe carried cocaine on to the site.

But after he was seen behaving suspiciously during the four-day festival, which attracted more than 20,000 visitors, police were notified.

Tagoe had 11g of the class A drug in his possession - a total of of £661.80 in street value.

He admitted his intention was to deal the drugs to others at the festival.

At Carlisle Crown Court today, Tagoe was sentenced, having admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply on 1st August.

The court heard he had two previous convictions for class A drugs supply.
