Former England goalkeeper David Seaman has visited students at a school in Windermere today.
The ex-Arsenal goalie opened St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School's new Primary Spaces games and play area.
Parents and children then took part in a penalty shootout against Seaman to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Seaman said he was happy to get involved.
"To come down to the local school and see all the kids faces, it's something very special.
"Days like this mean to much to the kids and the teachers told me how the kids have been so excited and hardly been able to sleep.
"It's just nice, especially on a perfect day like this," he said.
