Cumbria Police are appealing for information after a high value theft of telecom cable near Shap.
Just after 1am this morning (Wednesday, May 11), people were disturbed on the A6 south of Shap village, when 700m of 2 inch in diameter copper cabling went missing from a roadside telecom dock.
During the theft, a length of dry stole wall was also damaged.
The perpetrators left the scene in a green Jeep Grand Cheroke vehicle, which is believed to have been in the area for several days, and may have been in the company of a second vehicle, possible red in colour.
It's believed the same people have been involved in similar thefts in the area.
