Kendal's Colour Dash raised more than £26,000 for St. John's Hospice at the weekend.
1,200 runners - including hundreds from local schools - took on the course on Sunday.
Competitors were covered in powdered paint along the way.
Windermere School pupil Josh Bellis was the first person to finish.
“Well done to everyone involved with the St. Johns Colour Dash 2016!” said director of The Westmorland Shopping Centre, Alan Green. “It has been an absolute pleasure to be the main sponsor and what a fun day we all had! The number of runners far exceeded my expectations and was great to see. It has been a superbly organised event!”
“The atmosphere was incredible and we were thrilled to see so many people from the local community running to support St John’s Hospice.” said community fundraiser, Sara Brown. “Thanks to them and the fabulous weather, it’s been an extraordinary success. We have had so much positive feedback from runners and organisations who attended on the day and would like to extend our grateful thanks to the volunteers and marshalls, who also came along to help make sure that everything ran smoothly. We will know the final amount raised in July, once the sponsorship money has been collected.”
“The colour dash is an inclusive event, encouraging members of the community to come along and enjoy a colourful, vibrant and fun morning supporting their local hospice. Last year we had 642 people running and I am delighted that we almost doubled those figures in 2016!”
