Keswick plays host to the new Taste Cumbria food festival from today (Sunday).
The two-day event is being held in the town in efforts to boost local businesses' fortunes after December's floods.
The festival will feature a giant market with more than 70 traders selling food & drink, with family activities taking place at various locations.
Marie Whitehead, Director of CN Events, said: “It is fantastic that so many people want to get involved in our first Taste Cumbria festival in Keswick. Pitches for the producers market sold like hot cakes, if you’ll pardon the foodie pun! It’s testament to how strong the Taste Cumbria brand has become, and how popular these events are, that this calibre and variety of traders want to get involved.
"We’re looking forward to a fabulous two-day festival. Thanks to the funding from Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, we are able to put on loads of family activities in Packhorse Court, next to Market Square where all the stalls and hot food producers will be. Then we’re setting up the chef’s demos in a marquee near the Moot Hall. There really will be something going on for all the family. It’s going to be great – now just let the sun shine!”
