South Lakeland District Council's approved grants worth £285,000 for local projects.
The 16 schemes range from rural broadband installation to new playgrounds.
The money's come from the Locally Important Projects fund.

The latest projects to be recommended to receive LIPs funding, subject to any requests for clarification and relevant criteria being satisfied, are:
Arnside Educational Institute - £15,000 (increase facilities for local community)
Brigsteer Village Hall - £3,500 (car park improvements)
Burneside Parish Council - £1,000 (Riverside Project)
Crosthwaite Exchange - £3,870 (expansion of cooking facilities)
Friends of Lightburn Park (Ulverston) - £20,000 (park improvement work)
Grange Athletic FC - £10,000 (supply and install a pitch drainage scheme)
Grange Town Council - £20,000 (redevelop and upgrade playground)
Kendal Rugby Club and Queen Katherine School - £18,000 (feasibility study into potential development of site)
Kendal Town Council - £20,000 (redevelop and upgrade Abbott Hall Park playground)
Kendal Town Council - £8,000 (Kendal Trail Project)
Kendal Town Council - £9,000 (improvements to footpath surface Dean Gibson to Collin Road)
Milnthorpe Play Area Development - £5,230 (fitness facility/trim trail for children)
New Hutton Parish Council - £20,000 (installation of rural broadband)
Preston Richard Parish Council - £10,000 (creation of footpath on A65 at Crooklands)
Ruskin Museum - £3,500 (replacement of current lighting system)
Staveley Parish Council - £7,500 (refurbishment of Ings village playground)
