Cumbria Trading Standards are again urging residents not to buy anything from doorstep cold-callers.
Recent reports have been made about a man trying to sell power tools and generators at Kirkby-in-Furness.
He's around 35 years old, with blonde cropped hair, traveling in a grey vehicle, thought to be a Volkswagen.
Police say he could also be targeting surrounding areas.
A Cumbria Trading Standards spokesperson said: "The items being sold may seem like a bargain but could be counterfeit and may not conform to stringent current safety standards. We would always recommend that these types of products are bought from reputable sources.
"Trading Standards would like to reiterate previous advice - don't deal with cold callers.
"If you have been approached recently, have received a flyer or have any information please contact Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 03454 04 05 06 or contact Cumbria Police on 101."
