The date of a meeting between Dalton zoo's management team and Barrow Borough Council's executive director has reportedly been set.
It comes following the news that the South Lakes Safari Zoo may not be closing permanently after all.
The council's executive director, Phil Huck, is understood to have invited members of the zoo's management team to a meeting on Friday at 2pm at Barrow Town Hall.
The invitation follows a series of posts made by the zoo on its Facebook page, accusing the council of "harassment and bullying" after the council's licensing committee ordered the zoo to upgrade a number of safety features at the attraction.
However, the zoo's owner and founder, David Gill, is not believed to be on the list of individuals invited to the meeting.
Mr Gill, who is the licence holder for South Lakes Safari Zoo, last week announced he had 'gifted' the park to the Safari Zoo Nature Foundation - a charity run by South Lakes Safari Zoo.
