Police have confirmed that the death of a man after a fire in Kendal last night is being treated as non-suspicious.
Police were called just before 8pm to the fire at a property on Aynam Road.
A 20-year-old man, who was visiting the property, was found dead at the scene.
The Coroner has been informed.
Another male, aged 22, who lives at the property, was taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary, transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital and is now at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham suffering from serious burns. He is in a critical condition.
The Fire Service and Cumbria Police, acting on behalf of the Coroner, are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the fire.
