A man's been warned by a judge he could be jailed for his role in a violent incident in Ambleside.

Carlisle Crown Court heard today that 40 year old Dwayne Keenan threatened two men with a knife in July, outside his house at Kirkfield Rise.

The court heard he took that course of action having been involved in an earlier confrontation with the pair.

Keenan pleaded guilty to charges of affray and possession of a bladed article - a butter knife.

His defence said he'd felt under threat at the time of the incident.

The case was adjourned, and he'll be sentenced on the 22nd of January.

Bail was granted with strict conditions - He was ordered to live and sleep at an address in Vicars Fields in Kendal, and is not allowed to enter Ambleside.

Recorder Kevin Grice told him: "All options will remain open on 22nd January, including custody.

"You have an unattractive (criminal) record and this is a serious offence. It involves talking a knife into a public place."
