A drink-driver who crashed his Porsche during a high speed police chase in the Lakes has been jailed for six months.
38 year old Robert Fogarty was spotted driving the wrong direction down a one-way street in May this year, and sped through 40mph zones in Ambleside and Grasmere at 70mph as he tried to evade capture.
He eventually collided with a wall and was arrested.
Fogarty - from Warwick, admitted drink-driving and dangerous driving and was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today.
A three-year driving ban was also imposed by Recorder Kevin Grice, who said: "I am afraid, Robert Fogarty, that for this error of judgement you will pay a catastrophic price."
