Work is continuing to carry out welfare checks to people in Cumbria who have been affected by extensive flooding across the county.
Deliveries are being made of essential food and supplies by police, military and Cumbria County Council to isolated areas such as Glenridding, Howtown and Patterdale.
It is believed that more than 1,000 homes are still without power and work is ongoing to restore supplies.
The Greystone Community Centre in Carlisle remains open as a reception centre for those affected.
Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Darren Martland said: “Partner and voluntary agencies are working incredibly hard in order to support those who have been affected by the flooding. All the agencies involved in this response have worked round the clock in difficult and sometimes dangerous conditions.
“Our main priority throughout this response has been to ensure the safety of people in this county. Sadly there has been one death and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this time.
“I would like to thank members of the public who have shown patience and great support to the response.”
