As Cumbria Police and partner agencies continue to work to keep people safe and secure in communities across the county, a fresh list of overnight reception centres has been released.

In Patterdale and Glenridding residents are without power, and have no phone lines. Police, Mountain Rescue and the Military are working to evacuate vulnerable people and supply extra food and water to those who need it.

A North West Air Ambulance Service has a helicopter is available for any emergencies and a satellite phones are available which residents can use in an emergency.

The list of all reception centres that remain open in the county to offer advice and shelter is as follows:

- Greystone Community Centre

- Penrith Leisure Centre

- Kendal Town Hall

Cumbria Police received reports of males in West Cumbria knocking on peoples doors claiming to offer help. Our advice is to not accept help from any people that you do not know and do not have appropriate identification.

A spokesperson said: "We want to reassure residents of flooded properties that have been evacuated that police have high visibility patrols 24/7 throughout the affected areas in the county providing security and support."
