Allerdale Borough Council has moved its flood reception centre in Keswick from St Herbert’s School on Trinity Way, to The Pack Horse Inn, Pack Horse Court.

Meanwhile, the Cockermouth reception centre at the Eco Centre remains open.

Those who need assistance can simply turn up at the centre and do not need to call in advance.

Anyone who experiences a housing issue related to the flood, or who needs to report a dangerous property, should call the Council on 01900 702702.

An Allerdale Borough Council spokesperson said: "Hhousing officers will continue to find temporary accommodation for those people evacuated from their homes who do not have friends or family to stay with. They will be working with those who cannot return to their homes when the flood waters drop to help them find places to stay until their properties can be repaired.

"Anyone who needs housing assistance, or help with anything else flood-related, can call the Council’s customer services teams on 01900 702702 or email customer.service@allerdale.gov.uk."
