The Bay Search and Rescue Team have been hard at work over the weekend and can now give an update on incidents they attended.
Many people were recovered from stranded cars and a number of cars towed out of flood water over Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of December.
The Search and Rescue Team helped "one very lucky chap" on Saturday as their Hagglund crew operated from Windermere Fire Station.
The man was dragged into a raging beck and went 200 yards downstream before managing to stop himself just before going under a bridge, where the team helped him out and treated a lot of cuts and abrasions.
Also on Saturday, two Hagglund crews in Kendal evacuated houses and care homes in the town.
Meanwhile, two Landrover crews in Kendal were joint-crewed with North West Ambulance Service paramedics, enabling them to attend calls around the Kendal area.
The team's minibus has also been busy ferrying evacuees to welfare centres.
The last job of the day on Sunday was a joint Kendal MRT and BSAR swiftwater rescue team evacuating an elderly couple from their flooded house on the Strand at Milnthorpe.
The team returned to base late on Sunday to do essential running repairs on their vehicles and kit.
