A South Cumbria man is due to appear before Barrow magistrates today (Friday), after being charged with seven firearms offences on Thursday night.
49 year old Paul Holmes of Station Road in Holme was arrested following police raids in Holme, Milnthorpe and Morecambe on Wednesday morning, when ten weapons and ammunition were seized.
He’s been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited handgun, two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm - a sawn off shotgun, and one count of possession of Section 1 ammunition without a certificate.
His arrest followed a joint operation by the North-west's regional organised crime unit, Cumbria Police, and the National Crime Agency.
