The South Lakes has the 6th highest levels of employment in the UK.
That's according the most recent figures from the Office of National Statistics.
According to the figures, the Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency had only 222 people out of work in the last 12 months.
Speaking about the figures, local MP Tim Farron said: "It is great to continue to see such low levels of unemployment in our area and I particularly want to thank small business owners for their part in making our economy so successful. I know that running your own business is really hard, you need to ensure that your staff get paid before you can even think about paying yourself.
"I am working closely with the District Council to look at developing more support for small businesses through the development of small business hubs and the provision of help and expertise. Nationally I have proposed that the government gives new business owners £100 a week to help with living costs while they get their businesses off the ground."
