Treetop Trek at Windermere in the Lake District is celebrating after welcoming its 100,000th participant.
The attraction, which was voted the best tourism experience in the country at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2015, has now had over 100,000 visitors to its unique woodland adventure, which is located at Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Centre.
It is a double celebration for Treetop Trek, as its sister attraction, Treetop Nets, which boasts more than 1500m2 of giant trampolines, walkways, slides and tunnels made from netting and suspended high in beautiful oak woodland, has just had its 50,000th visitor through its doors.
Even more adventurers, young and old, are set to enjoy the attractions, as it has been announced that further locations for sites throughout the country are currently being sourced.
Mike Turner, Director of Treetop Trek Ltd which owns and runs both attractions said: “We opened the doors of Treetop Trek just four years ago and Treetop Nets opened in July last year, so to have welcomed so many visitors in such a short space of time is a huge achievement for us and we are immensely proud.
“Both attractions have been so well received, both locally and nationally, that we are now looking to see where we can take them next," he said.
Treetop Trek is a woodland adventure with 35 treetop challenges enabling participants from aged five upwards to swing, climb, balance and fly through the ancient oak canopy before racing down 250 meter zip wires and taking in spectacular views of the fells and Lake Windermere.
Treetop Nets is suitable for adventurers aged three upwards and both attractions are open all year round, come rain or shine.
