A cyclist who was riding for charity in the Lake District is described as having 'possibly life changing' injuries after crashing.
The 29-year-old man from Newcastle was two days into a charity cycle ride from Newcastle to Liverpool when he reached Ambleside on Friday (June 17).
It's believed he crashed into a dry stone wall at the roadside on The Struggle near Ambleside, whilst riding down the steep road from Kirkstone Pass.
He was wearing a helmet, but still received serious head and neck injuries.
He was taken by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital, where his injuries have been described as 'possibly life changing'.
The road in Ambleside was closed for almost four hours while Police investigated the crash.
