Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner Peter McCall is inviting people to apply for funding from his Community Fund.

The Community Fund is specifically aimed at supporting projects that are provided within local communities for the benefit of that community.

Groups are invited to apply for up to £10,000 to help fund projects that engage in initiatives and interventions to reduce crime and tackle anti-social behaviour.

Police and Crime Commissioner Peter McCall: “ I am delighted to launch the Community Fund. The Community Fund is an excellent opportunity for community groups, charities and voluntary groups to come forward to receive funding for the work that they are doing which supports reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.

“The aim of the fund is to build capacity and maximise the potential of organisations to help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.

“I am a firm believer in the approach of ‘we not they’ and the Community Fund is all about giving funding to local communities to make a difference in their local areas.”

The closing date for this round of applications is noon on Monday 8 August.

There will be another opportunity to apply in the autumn.
