The volunteers at Bay Search and Rescue will receive a royal visit later this month to recognise their efforts during the winter's floods.
The Duke of Kent will be in Cark-in-Cartmel on Wednesday 22 June, where he will be given a ride to the team's HQ in Flookburgh on board one of their Hagglund all-terrain vehicles.
The Duke will unveil a plaque to commemorate the day.
During Storm Desmond, Bay Search and Rescue worked for four days uninterrupted across Cumbria - rescuing people, evacuating properties, and transporting medical staff.
They also helped out at Croston in Lancashire - supporting the Army in repairing riverbanks and saving the residents of an old people's home.
BSar Chair Adrian Swenson said: “The Royal visit is a great honour in recognition of the work the team carried out over a prolonged period during the recent floods in Cumbria and Lancashire.”
