A new public consultation has started on plans for new homes and businesses in Kendal and near Grange-over-Sands.
It's for land west of High Sparrowmire and north of Laurel Gardens in Kendal; and south of Allithwaite Road in Kent's Bank.
South Lakeland District Council has created draft development briefs for those areas - they outline what can be built where in future.
Councillor Jonathan Brook, SLDC’s portfolio holder for Housing and Innovation, said: “The principle of development on the sites has already been agreed through an independent examination.
“This new round of consultation on these three sites will give residents the opportunity to come forward with comments that can help shape the type of development and what it will look like.
“We would urge all local residents to make use of this opportunity and to come forward with their comments and suggestions to inform the final briefs.
“This development brief process provides an additional opportunity for residents to get involved beyond that contained in the normal planning process and would not have been available had the council not committed to the preparation of development briefs for these sites.
“This highlights once again the benefits of adopting the Local Plan and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the highest quality outcomes for our communities.’’
