Cumbria County Council says it's keeping a watching brief on the government's latest effort to find a site for an underground nuclear waste dump.
In 2013, the authority vetoed siting any geological disposal facility for higher activity radioactive waste in West Cumbria.
The government's currently drafting a White Paper on its next plan to find a site for the GDF - it's thought that power for certain council's to veto will be removed.
Meanwhile, the County Council's consulting on its mineral and waste plan for the next 15 years.
It says the repository at Drigg will be able to cope with the expected levels of low level radioactive waste in that timeframe.
