Police say they've found the car of a missing Wales man, who's believed to be in Cumbria.

45-year-old Timothy Edwards has been missing from his home in Prestatyn since Friday the 1st of April.

Authorities believe he could be in the Lake District, with enquiries suggesting he drove on the M6 to Carnforth on Friday.

The car he is thought to be using is a black BMW with registration number KJ03 DJZ, which has been found parked at Langthwaite Wood near to Crummock Water on 06 April 2016.

Mr Edwards is white, between 6ft and 6ft3in tall and of medium build.

He has short dark coloured brown hair, which is receding, and was last seen wearing a grey and black striped Trespass jumper, blue jeans, grey and blue coloured walking boots.

Sergeant David Macdonald, of Cumbria Constabulary, said: "Timothy was reported missing on Sunday, April 3 to North Wales Police and his disappearance is out of character.

"With the discovery of his vehicle it is highly probable that the 45-year-old may still be in the Lake District.

"We are increasingly concerned for his welfare and are appealing to anyone who may have seen Timothy or know of his whereabouts to please contact us on 101.

"We are also appealing to Timothy himself to make contact with us and his family to let us know that he is safe and well."

Anyone with information should call Cumbria Constabulary on 101 quoting reference number CP-20160406-0153.
