South Lakeland District Council agreed its new Equality Scheme this week.
It'll promote the Handy Person Scheme, which sees the council's housing team help elderly or vulnerable people fit light bulbs or install security measures.
The authority's also joined the Springboard Project to support the victims of domestic violence.
SLDC added that it's working to bring empty homes back into use for local people on low incomes; and it'll continue to work to take A-boards off the streets as they obstruct blind and partially-sighted people.
