Morecambe RNLI's hovercraft was used in the rescue of an elderly man who'd become stuck in mud between Arnside and Silverdale yesterday.
Arnside Coastguard managed to free the man using their mud rescue equipment.
The lifeboat crew then took him to Holgates caravan site in Silverdale where a waiting ambulance crew checked him over.
Morecambe RNLI Senior Hovercraft Commander, Harry Roberts MBE, said: "With the coastguard, North West ambulance service and RNLI volunteer crew working closely together it enabled the casualty to be quickly rescued and transferred for medical assistance. This made the experience for the casualty a lot easier in a stressful situation."
