A 10-year old child was among youngsters who've been arrested by Cumbria Police on suspicion of firearms offences in recent years.
Figures obtained by the Press Association show officers have had to take in 11 and 12-year olds too.
Two 16-year old boys and another aged 17 are the only children to be charged in relation to a gun crime over the last three years.
Meanwhile in Lancashire, 13 children were arrested between 2012 and 2015; but none were charged.
