A South Cumbrian man who had 200 child porn images on his laptop has been spared an immediate prison sentence.
Some of the images in 67 year old Ian Chambers' possession were classed as 'Category A' - the most serious, with a number of the children estimated to be aged as young as five.
40 indecent video files were also found on an external hard drive.
He admitted 10 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child between 2005 and 2014, and was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Chambers - of Jack Hill in Allithwaite, was given an eight-month jail sentence, suspended for two years.
He must sign the sex offenders' register and is subject to the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the next 10 years.
He'll also undergo 24 months' supervision and complete one-to-one group work.
