Another £1,200 has been raised for the Cumbria flood appeal, thanks to an appearance from Actor and Comedian Steve Coogan.
Mr Coogan took part in an event at Coniston's Brantwood Cafe this month, to help raise funds for victims of Storm Desmond.
He has a home in Coniston and had first hand experience of the floods when he found himself trapped in his vehicle overnight at Thirlmere.
The event was a complete sell-out.
Following a special evening meal provided by Brantwood’s chef, Simon Boden, and his team, Steve talked to a small audience of diners about his experience of being caught in the floods and explained why Cumbria means so much to him.
The Appeal currently receives an average of 31 applications a day and has already awarded £2,486,803.
