A pop-up cafe in Kendal is set to return for the fourth time later this month.
It's returning on Saturday the 18th of March at the Hallgarth Community Centre from midday until 2pm.
It's run by local residents, operating on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis, serving up meals using unused produce from local suppliers and restaurants, that otherwise would have been wasted.
Money raised goes back into local community events.
Claire Wickham, the Hallgarth Pop-Up Café Coordinator says, “There have been over 300 people attend previous cafe events and even as people were finishing off their plates of food, they were asking us when the next cafe will be on!”
Alongside the pop up café, members of South Lakes Action on Climate Change will be showing how to compost food waste to create your own free garden resource which you can use on any garden plants and to grow your own crops over the summer.
