A thief who was spared jail after stealing thousands-of-pounds from an Ambleside chippy has now been sent to prison for another crime.
Michael Jenkinson took £5,000 from a safe he took from his former employers at the Walnut Fish Bar in September.
He blew it on steak, cocktails and clothes during a trip to Manchester.
The 32-year old, of Greenbank Road in Ambleside, got a suspended two year sentence for that.
Just three months later though, he pinched two expensive jackets from Kendal's Tog 24 store.
After he admitted that offence, a judge at Carlisle Crown Court activated the original punishment.
