Members of the public are being warned to expect road disruption across Cumbria due to the anticipated surface water flooding and high winds.
The rain Cumbria is currently experiencing is falling on already saturated ground, and is likely to cause surface water flooding on minor roads across the county.
Due to the potentially high winds and wet conditions, advice issued to drivers is to slow down, plan extra time for your journey and to make sure that your car is equipped to deal with deteriorating weather conditions.
Cumbria Police have received reports of surface water flooding around the Kendal area and we are urging motorists not to drive through any water that they cannot judge the depth.
Cumbria Police is currently dealing with a tree that has fell on the westbound carriageway on the A66 at Embleton.
The road is not blocked however police are on scene to assist with traffic and highways are on route to remove the fallen tree.
