Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses and information after three recent burglaries where dehumidifiers were stolen from flood affected premises, and one attempted burglary from a flood affected premises in Eamont Bridge.
The items stolen were two DRI-EAZ dehumidifiers, two DRI-EAZ electric fans, two large BELFORT dehumidifiers and one POLYGONE dehumidifier.
They were taken from two premises in Pooley Bridge and one at Watermillock between the dates of 13th and 16th January 2016.
The total value of the items stolen are over £3000.
Inspector Adrian Sowerby said: “It’s despicable that someone has stolen these items.
"I would urge anyone with any information about these crimes to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
"Additionally I ask that local people do not hesitate to report any suspicious activities in these areas.
“Thankfully reported crime in the Ullswater area has been low since the floods, however everyone must remain vigilant if we are to continue to prevent criminals taking advantage of people and their property.”
