Sainsbury's stores - both local and national, are recalling their own brand of Wholemeal Bread Medium Sliced and Thick Sliced because they may contain small pieces of metal.

The Food Standards Agency says the presence of metal pieces makes these products unsafe to eat and presents a risk to health.

Details:

Product: By Sainsbury's Wholemeal Bread Medium Sliced - Pack size: 800g, 'Best before' date: 19 January 2016

Product: By Sainsbury's Wholemeal Bread Thick Sliced - Pack size: 800g, 'Best before' date: 19 January 2016

No other Sainsbury's products are known to be affected.

Recall notices will be displayed in all stores in the UK, which explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what actions to take if they have bought the product.

A copy of the point-of-sale recall notice can be found here.
