The Cumbria Voluntary Society has organised an information session for local people to find out more about how to get involved.

It's being held on Thursday the 28th of January from 10.30am until midday Stricklandgate House in Kendal.

Residents will be able to learn more about local organisations currently looking for volunteers including The Oaklea Trust, Caritas Care, British Red Cross, Family Drop In Centre, Alzheimers, Witness Service, Forestry Commission and Citizens Advice Bureau.

Judith Holmshaw, County Volunteer Support Officer for Cumbria CVS said: "This small and informal session will be a fantastic opportunity to be inspired to volunteer. Cumbria CVS is inviting you to book your volunteer place today to show you how your time can make a huge difference to individuals and charities that need more people to come forward to volunteer.“

Anyone interested is being asked to contact Cumbria CVS on 01768 800350 or e-mail: info@cumbriacvs.org.uk to book a place.
